Autumn and Winter Cycling Gloves Selection Guide

Cycling gloves in different temperatures

  • Above 20°C
  • 10℃~20℃
  • 7℃~15℃
  • 0℃~7℃

The gloves recommended today are suitable for temperatures in the range of 0°C to 20°C.

When the temperature is higher than 20°C, it is ok to wear a pair of summer short-fingered cycling gloves.

Below 0°C, it will be introduced separately.

I divide the temperature in autumn and winter into four parts for discussion: above 20°C, 10°C to 20°C, 7°C to 15°C, and 0°C to 7°C

1. Above 20°C

As mentioned in the previous premise, the temperature is only slightly cooler, and it is enough to wear ordinary half-finger cycling gloves.

The characteristics are: comfortable, the pad in the palm is quite thick, and the elasticity is also good. After riding for 30 to 50 kilometers, the palm will not feel numb, and the air permeability and sun protection performance are not bad.

2. 10℃~20℃

At temperatures between 10°C and 20°C, I prefer to wear thinner full-fingered gloves.

The characteristics are: the fabric is high-elastic brushed cloth, which has a good thermal effect. There is a large piece of silicone anti-slip sheet on the palm, which has a good grip on the handlebars. In addition to the pad, the palm also has a mesh-like breathable part, which is good for long-distance riding. It’s not stuffy and has good air permeability.

There is also a kind of water-repellent full-finger glove, which has fleece inside and a water-repellent outer layer, which is waterproof and windproof.

and, the touch screen function is added to the finger, which is convenient to operate the mobile phone.

3. 7℃~15℃

This temperature requires thicker and warmer gloves.

This kind of glove must have the function of water-repellent. This glove is made of three-layer composite material, the outer layer is windproof and waterproof, the middle is filled with thermal silk cotton, and the inner layer is fleece. Moreover, the reflective parts with a large area are very effective in winter when the days are short and the nights are long and the sky turns black all of a sudden.

In addition, there are buckles on both sides of the gloves, which is very convenient for storage.

4. 0℃~7℃

There is only one recommendation left for this temperature, that is, it must have a good heat preservation effect.

5. Supplement: Gloves for bottoming

Polar fleece thermal gloves are recommended. Although the palm has no cushion and is a bit thin, it can be used as a base layer and worn with other gloves.

For example, at 17°C~18°C, it is a bit cold to wear half-finger gloves, and it is a bit stuffy to wear full-finger fleece gloves. You can wear this glove first, and then put on half-finger gloves, so that the temperature is maintained and the air permeability With it, there is also a palm cushion.
